The Oglala Lakota

The Oglala Lakota lives on the Pine Ridge reservation southeast from rapidly town center in Süddakota. The Pine Ridge reservation is about 2 million acre largely. There are eight districts on the Pine Ridge reservation: Porcupine, Wakpamni, Medicine root, passport Creek, Eagle nest, White Clay, LaCreek and the Wounded Knee district.

Culture: The Oglala Sioux Stammesmitglieder descends from the Tetonwan department. In the summer months take place Powwos, Rodeos and races. The traditions are passed on still verbally by the oldest ones to the youth.

Means of transport - transport: On the reservation there are no public means of transport. One drives with private cars. But not all have to possess the possibility a car and depend therefore on friends and used, if they want to travel and/or go away. Most Indians go therefore to foot. But the localities and municipalities are often far and the weather conditions are unfavorable, so that one runs in combined way and undertakes collective travels.
