On 13 July 1995, we collected a single Red River pupfish from the Salt Fork of the Arkansas River, 8 km north of the town of Nash on OK HW 132 in Grant County (TS26N R08W S27 IM). This is the first record of the pupfish from the Salt Fork River drainage.

The total length of the specimen was 19 mm. It was given to the University of Oklahoma Museum of Natural History (OKMNH) and was cataloged into the fish collections (OKMNH #48366). No additional individual was found. This unintentional introduction may be due to bait dealers; commercial minnow dealers seining in the area may have dumped their tanks that contained water with pupfish from SW Oklahoma.
