AN ACT
To amend the Act of August 27, 1954 (68 Stat. 868), with respect to the Uintah and Ouray Reservation in Utah.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That section 5 of the Act of August 27, 1954 (68 Stat. 868), is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sentence: "New membership in the tribe shall thereafter be controlled and determined by the constitution and bylaws of the tribe and ordinances enacted thereunder."

SEC. 2.

Section 8 of said Act of August 27, 1954, is amended by changing the period at the end thereof to a comma and by adding the following: "but this Act shall not be construed as granting any inheritable interest in tribal assets to full-blood members of the tribe or as preventing future membership in the tribe, after the date of enactment of this Act, in the manner provided in the constitution and bylaws of the tribe."

SEC. 3.

Section 17 of said Act of August 27, 1954, is amended as follows: After "except that" delete the word "any" and insert in lieu

thereof: "any corporation organized by the mixed-blood members for the purpose of aiding in the joint management with the tribe and in the distribution of unadjudicated or unliquidated claims against the United States, all gas, oil, and mineral rights of every kind, and all other assets not susceptible to equitable and practicable distribution shall not be subject to corporate income taxes. Any".
