Smiles [with Tears] has at least one American Indian ancestor, Pathfinder has no traceable American Indian heritage. Both have been adopted by other Lenapé people and are proud to embrace that culture.</p> <p>Because Smiles' American Indian heritage is through the women of her mother's family, by Eastern Woodlands tradition she would be a "full-blood". When Pathfinder married her, he would have been joined to her People. Their adoption by another Lenapé also would make them "full-bloods" by tradition. But these things are only of value to those who honor such traditions.</p> <p><a href="portrait.html">Smiles and Pathfinder</a> live in the Greensburg, Pennsylvania [USA] area. They have Lenapé friends and acquaintances among many groups, including the Eastern Delaware Nations, the Turtle Island Chatauqua, the Eastern Lenapé Nations, the Wyomink Schukuney Mawewin, the Loyalhanna Band, the Big Horn Lenapé Nation, the Thunder Mountain Lenapé Nation, and the Buffalo and Lightning Valley villages.</p> <p>The purpose of this web site is to provide factual information about the Lenapé people and culture. The information presented here is accurate to the best of our knowledge, as we learn from reference material and as we are taught by others.
